Republican Senators Ask President to Add Nonimmigrant Workers to Travel Ban Proclamation

This morning, Sens. Tom Cotton (R-AR), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Charles Grassley (R-IA), and Josh Hawley (R-MO) sent President Trump this letter requesting that he add nonimmigrant work classifications to his April 23 Proclamation.  The letter specifically requests an indefinite ban on H-1B visa holders, and requests an indefinite suspension of Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 students who have graduated from U.S. universities. If your company is engaged in lobbying activities, please consider making your voice heard before such a damaging expansion of the current Travel Ban Proclamation goes into effect.  It could have devastating consequences to your company and your existing foreign national employees. Our advice continues to be that nonimmigrant foreign national employees avoid any unnecessary international travel. Unfortunately, there is currently no predictability as to when or which additional visa categories will be banned from the United States
